Custom Truck Fabrication in South Dakota

Custom Fabrication at 1776 Kustom Truck Fab

Custom fabrication is what we do when there's no part to buy. If you can sketch it on a napkin, we can weld it up. Our shop runs full TIG, MIG, plasma cutting, press brake, and chassis-grade tube benders - everything stays under one roof, so quality stays under one set of hands. We've built one-off skid plates, gas tank relocations, hidden winch mounts, roof racks, bed cages, body panels, and entire chassis sections for owners who refused to compromise. Every weld is laid by someone who's been doing it for two decades, not a part-timer chasing a clock.

The 1776 process

  1. STEP 01

    Talk it through

Bring the truck or a sketch. We figure out what you actually need.

  2. STEP 02

    Design & quote

We send drawings, parts list, and a fixed price. No surprises mid-build.

  3. STEP 03

    Fabricate

Cut, weld, fit. Weekly photo updates so you see the work happen.

  4. STEP 04

    Finish & install

Powder coat or paint, then bolted in or welded on. You drive away.

What it costs

Price range
$1,200 – $12,000

Depends on material, complexity, and finish. Brackets start low. Full chassis work climbs.

Common questions

Either works. A sketch, a CAD file, a photo of something you saw online, or a broken part to copy - we can build from all of them.

Mild steel, stainless, and aluminum. TIG for stainless and aluminum, MIG for production-speed steel work, structural welds always certified-grade.

Not if you finish it. We powder coat or paint everything that leaves the shop unless you specifically ask for raw steel.

Yes. We have a press brake, an English wheel, and the patience to make a one-off panel look like it came from the factory.

Brackets and skids: a few days. Chassis sections and panels: 2–6 weeks depending on queue. We give a real timeline at quote.
